iPad Tales for the Over 60 Group

There is a really great story for kids called "If you Give a Pig A Panacake." The author inspired these vignettes. No, I am not kidding for April Fool's Day! This has happened in our house!

If you give an old woman an iPad

she's gonna want a cover, check.

Then she'll want a keyboard, check.

Then she will neglect the rest of her life trying to learn how to use it, check.

Then she will get frustrated that her wireless router doesn't want to connect but chooses the neighbor's line instead, check.

A new router is researched and purchased, check.

Then she gets upset with her tower computer when it does not connect as quickly as her iPad, check.

But the new, more up-to-date and powerful router is installed and all is well,

And once again she may be able to breathe deeply and look around the room, check.

The on-going saga....

Then she will get impatient for her iPad "pointer pens" to arrive from the orient, check.

And several days later ....

If an old man buys an iPad for his wife, it is just a matter of time before

he grabs it after she reads him a quote from her eBook,

then he checks the altimeter he downloaded

along with the weather channels and the maps.

Next he loads a maze on the screen and plays

"flip the screen" until she is dizzy and aggravated.

Soon he begins to explore his plans for Alaska, researching inns and routes.

His wife tries to turn over and read her paperback book,

but alas, she cannot because he is so excited about the new technology and the next trip.

Well, at least he fell asleep happy on the night before he had to return to work!
